TPCA offers the most comprehensive and clinically advanced cardiac imaging department in the Tallahassee area. All personnel are certified providers in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and follow the most current recommendations of the American Heart Association Committee on Emergency Cardiac Care. In addition, all stress tests are performed by Licensed Paramedics and Certified Cardiovascular Technologists. On-site physicians are also available to be involved in patient care as needed.

Nuclear Medicine Stress Tests
Exam Preparation
This exam will take 3-4 hours after IV administration. Do not consume caffeine or nicotine 24 hours prior to test. Nothing to eat or drink (with the exception of water) four hours prior to examination. Withhold medications as directed by medical staff, with specific attention to Beta-blockers and Calcium Channel Blockers. Wear shoes and clothes suitable for walking on a treadmill.
After Care Instructions
Follow up with your referring physician within 3-5 business days for routine exam results.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for walking
No caffeine or nicotine 24 hours prior to test
It’s best not to walk the treadmill after a big meal
